hi!
or, why I'm here
Who remembers the olden days of bloggers - back when they were written by interesting people just doing their thing and not getting paid for it. Before #ads and #sponsored content. If you’re anywhere near your 30’s you almost certainly know what I’m talking about. I miss those days, and although instagram has been amazing for connection and visual inspiration, the old way the bloggers shared that I loved so much had disappeared for me.
I finally feel like theres a platform as unfussy but perfectly suited for sharing that I’ve been hoping for. Substack marries everything I liked about old blogs, without the loneliness and forgettability of everyone having their own .com. I love love love finding new writers to follow, artists, shopoholics, academics - they’re all on here.
For years, I’ve had an itch to find a place to consolidate some things I like sharing with family and friends, and I think I may have found it here. Expect to see recipes, shopping links, the ebbs and flows of becoming an artist, and maybe some other pretty things I pick up along the way. Glad you’re here, see you soon.
XAmy
